It’s yours to enjoy so start exploring!
Pack 98 is dedicated to a lively Cub Scout experience with activities that capture the interest of boys yet are fun for the entire family. Our Cub Scouts learn essential skills and enjoyment of outdoor activities, community involvement, personal safety, sports, and the environment. Pack 98 is a group of about 60 Scouts and their families. Chartered by the First United Methodist Church we work with boys from several Fort Collins area schools. We meet at the church on Thursdays at 7 PM.

Pinewood Derby District Race
We had another great Pack 98 Pinewood Derby on March 8. Twelve boys from our Pack will proceed to the District Pinewood Derby Race on April 26. See the list of Pack Pinewood Derby winners including those who will go on to Districts at the bottom of this web page. Here are the logistics for Districts:
Day Camp at Swift Ponds, June 3-4 or June 5-6
This is a local two-day day camp where the boys have fun with games, crafts, BB guns, archery, sports, fishing and advancement. It is held at Swift Ponds which is just east of I-25 between Fort Collins and Windsor. The theme this year is Expedition: Galaxy Trek. Jen Reger is our Day Camp Coordinator, but she needs an assistant this year that can take over as coordinator next year since Jen will be graduating to Boy Scouts next Spring. We also need to provide one walk-around leader for every 5 boys, and one adult for station help each day. Please let your Den Leader know if you are willing to help at Day Camp.
Summer (Overnight) Camp at Camp Nicol, dates vary
Camp Jack Nicol is an exceptional Cub Scout overnight camp at Ben Delatour Scout Ranch near Red Feather Lakes. The camp has several fun themed areas and Cubs will enjoy BB guns, archery, wrist rockets, hikes, games, advancement and even a light parade. Generally, Dens attend together, but you are welcome to join another Den. Tents and all food is provided. It is ideal if Mom or Dad can join their Scout, but this is optional. Current Tigers and Wolves attend for two nights. Current Bears and Webelos attend for three nights and spend the extra day at the Boy Scout camp doing more adventurous activities like canoeing and bouldering.
Pack 98 Family Camp at Camp Patiya, June 20-22
The second annual Pack 98 Family Camp will be Friday, June 20 through Sunday, June 22 at Camp Patiya just west of Boulder. Bill Clouser is Family Camp Coordinator. Family Camp is when our Pack meets for a weekend of car camping. There are some structured activities but it is mostly an opportunity to relax. The whole family is invited. Cost is $20 per person (Scout or Adult) which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Everyone will help with the cooking and cleaning. Bring your own tent or let us know if you need to borrow one. An adult must attend with each Scout. Additional details for Family Camp including registration information will be sent out separately.
